The on-site wedding coordinator handles all the paperwork and details, allowing the couple to simply arrive and enjoy their wedding day and honeymoon.
For Cruise Weddings
For embarkation day cruises, the couple is usually met at the check-in area and whisked through the check-in formalities. Your shipboard wedding coordinator will show you the ceremony/reception locations and will be ever vigilant during the entire event.
For Resort Weddings - Upon Arrival at the Resort
Upon arrival at your resort, your on-site wedding coordinator will schedule an appointment to meet with you. During the interview, you will choose your wedding location (if this was not done previously), floral arrangements and wedding cake, review any group functions, confirm additional options, and finalize the details for your ceremony and your special day. After your meeting, relax with your family and friends. Then, on your wedding day, just show up at the appointed time and place, and your wedding ceremony will be orchestrated, moment by moment, by your ever vigilant, professional on-site wedding coordinator. Couples with a large wedding party or those who prefer a more "hands on" approach, are encouraged to visit the property once before the wedding, to meet with their wedding coordinator.
Residency requirements
Each Island has a specific period of time (usually 2-3 business days) that you must reside on the island, before you can be married there. Your TWG wedding planner will advise the residency requirements once you have settled on the perfect destination for your wedding.
Documentation Requirements
Each island is unique, and requirements vary from island to island—sometimes changing with little notice! Your TWG Wedding Planner and the resort's on-site Wedding Coordinator can answer any questions you have about the documents required for the destination you choose. The experience of having your wedding on a gorgeous, tropical island is well worth the effort!
Documentation requirements vary by destination but usually include:
- Notarized copies of state-issued birth certificates
- Passport
- Notarized copies of all pages of the court certified final divorce decree, if applicable
- Certified copy of legal name change or legal adoption papers if applicable
- State issued death certificate with related marriage certificate of a deceased spouse
- Your marriage will be legal and binding worldwide.
- Expect to receive your official license 6 to 12 weeks after you return home.
All legal documents must be in the official language of the country, or translated into that language by a legal translator with letterhead, stamp and seal from the translator's office (some places require documents to be translated on the island or in advance by island approved translators). Do not send original documents as they will not be returned. Mail documents via a reliable courier service so documents can be tracked. Please mail notarized copies of documents to the Wedding Office at least 60 days prior to your arrival date at the resort.
