Antigua: (pronounced An-tee'gah) is the largest of the British Leeward Islands. To the south are the islands of Montserrat and Guadeloupe, and to the north and west are Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Barth's, and St. Martin.
Only about 14 miles long and 11 miles wide, Antigua is said to have 365 beautiful beaches - one for every day of the year.
Beyond the beaches, visitors can spend the day visiting Nelson's Dockyard, the restored 18th century naval station at English Harbour with its quaint mix of shops, restaurants, and English taverns. Nightly entertainment includes steel bands, calypsonians, jazz groups, casinos, and moonlit dinner cruises with dancing.
Antigua is very laid back - ideal for relaxation. It appeals to vacationers of all ages, but is recommended for romantics who prefer quiet evenings.
